Commercial Description:
This IPA (India Pale Ale) is by far our hoppiest brew. At 8.3% alcohol, this triple dry-hopped ale is full bodied and has an aggressive hop flavor with distinct citrus undertones. This beer is perfect for all you hop heads out there! (You know who you are!) <br />Winner of World Beer Cup 2008 Double IPA Gold Medal and Gold Medal Double IPA GABF 2008!

Had it at the brewery. Tastes like a hoppier and drier version of Pure Hoppiness. Terrific hop aromas and grapefruit flavors throughout. Was a big Pure Hoppiness fan and tried this side by side with the Alpine and the Hopnotic was much more flavorful and hoppy! Great addition to the San Diego Brewing Co. house brews.

~Pours a light golden color with creamy white head. ~Nice Grapefruit citrus aroma. ~Strong hoppy grapefruit taste, very yummy. ~Medium feel, kind of sticky. ~This is great! One of the best IPA I have ever had. Hides 7.5% alcohol very well.

Tap at SDBC. Pale amber beer with a thin light white head. Wow... massively bright hoppy aroma. Orange peel, tangerine and a mango fruitiness along with lots of bright herbal resinousness. Fresh dry-hopped aroma but without any grassiness at all. Incredibly juicy sticky hoppy flavour wiith a bright pine/citrus flavour, soft light pale malts make up the soft backing notes, but this is all about the hops. Juicy, well-balanced and very tasty.

On tap @ San Diego Brew Co. This beer is everything an IPA should be and more! Poured a clear, deep golden orange with a wispy off white head. Amazing nose of floral and citrus hops, lightly sticky on the palate. An awesome IPA!

I had this at the brewpub. I was impressed. This is by far the best local IPA I have had. Subject to change. Deffinatly worth a try if you like this style. Hops were present throughout the swallow. Finished nicely with citrus and herbs.

On tap at Downtown Johnny Brown’s in SD, CA--Shiny ruby copper body with a soapy minuscule head. bitter, sweet hoppy floral bouquet nose. Sweet, tropical candy flavor. Full, satisfying mouthfeel. Great finish. Awesome beer!

#996 Half gallon jug from Callahans, a gift from my Daughter for my 62nd birthday: Orange amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is tropical fruit with some light pine. Flavor is caramel up front followed by some crisp citrus fruityness and a dry grapefruit finish. Full body is creamy with lively carbonation.
