bsierra (164), Vista, California, USA Jun 7, 2008 Had on tap at SDBC. Pours a bright rust color with a huge citrus hops nose. The flavor is in your face hoppiness, with lots of pine and sharp citrus notes. The finish is a knock out punch of hops that doesn’t leave your pallet for about a half and hour! This is a winner, hands down!
Oscbert (243), Sacramento, California, USA Jun 17, 2008 ~Pours a light golden color with creamy white head.
~Nice Grapefruit citrus aroma.
~Strong hoppy grapefruit taste, very yummy.
~Medium feel, kind of sticky.
~This is great! One of the best IPA I have ever had. Hides 7.5% alcohol very well. doubleo (751), San Diego, California, USA Jun 15, 2008 On-tap at the brewery. Pours hazy orange with a moderate white head, good spider web lace. Smells citrusy hoppy, slightly grassy, slightly sweet. Tastes hoppy bitter and citrusy then sweet, very nice. Hoppy, slightly bitter, overall sweet, but hoppy. Full, syrupy body, good carb on the vibrant side. This beer put me on tilt. AmEricanbrew (924), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jun 10, 2008 Clear amber with a tight head. Big piney hop aroma. Medium body. Hop driven flavors of grapefruit and pine sap with some pale malt sweetness, by far SDBC’s best beer. Draft @ the brewery. kflorence (86), San Diego, California, USA May 22, 2008 On tap at San Diego Brewing Company. I should start off by saying I am not a fan of IPA’s, which my rating most likely reflects, and this does not mean this beer is of lower quality. Poured a nice golden orange color with very little head. Smelled very strongly of hops, citrus, juniper and flowers. Has a very potent kick of hops on the tongue, with definite notes of citrus and grapefruit. The hops linger on your tongue long after you swallow. The mouthfeel was somewhat sticky, almost like nectar. Very bitter pine-hop finish. It’s definitely a great beer for those who enjoy very hoppy beer, but I’m not a big fan.
