A dark smooth ale that is rich and satisfying. This beer has hints of caramel and roasted malts, which are accompanied with a combination of Willamette and Cascade hops. The best brown ale you’ll ever try!

On tap. Clear reddish brown with an off-white head. Sweetish aroma of burned caramel and nuts. Medium body, sweetish burned caramel, dried fruit and nuts. No real bitternes. Very well crafted. 070709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a small deep amber glare and a small white head. Light fruity and roasted malty flavoured. Light bitterness coming through. Mild roasted base flavoured into the finish.

On tap at the brewpub in San Diego. Pours a clear, dark brown body with a thick, creamy brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of lacing. Faint aroma of fruits, nuts, and caramel. No real roast smell or taste. Flavor is malty and fruity with a nutty ending. Light bodied and somewhat fizzy. Overall, not too good. Disappointed.

Tap at SDBC. Deep brown beer with a thin white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Light toastiness and some faint nuttiness as well. Flavour is pretty sweet but there is a touch of cocoa that lends a kiss of roastiness that helps to dry the beer out. Nice nutty caramelly backing notes. It’s probably too sweet for me, but it does have some nice complexity behind it.

On tap at SDBC; dark, reddish brown in color. Aroma of coffee, toffee and cocoa. Flavor had alot of coffee in it; perhaps more than any other I have had of the style. Also some caramel, nuts and cocoa; but not too much. Slightly watery.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a medium thin and creamy tan head that recedes slowly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. The aroma is sweet malt and molasses with a touch of nuts. Medium, smooth body with flavors of malt, nuts and mild chocolate. Touches of hops are present at times as well. The finish is sweet and malty and leaves behind a nutty aftertaste. Decent overall.
