A dark smooth ale that is rich and satisfying. This beer has hints of caramel and roasted malts, which are accompanied with a combination of Willamette and Cascade hops. The best brown ale you’ll ever try!

On draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Thick lacing, head like little pools of cobwebs. Slight vinegar & nuttiness in aroma. Mild/average flavor.

On-tap at SDBC. Pours dark brown with a crisp, tan head, nice lace, great retention. Smells light and roasty malty, slightly nutty. Tastes roasty malty, slightly sweet, slightly sour, some nutty flavor. Medium body, crisp carbonation.

On tap at SDBC. Pours a deep dark amber/brown hue. The nose is that of roasted chestnuts, and it has really nice retention and prickly carbonation. The flavor is extremely malty, with hints of molasses and smooth hops balance. The end is crisp and flavorful. This is a very good brown ale!

On tap at San Diego Brewing Company. Dark brown in color with minimal tan head. Smells of malts, caramel and a hint of toastiness. Tastes mildly sweet, big notes of roasted malts and hazel nuts with undertones of caramel, brown sugar and hops. Very smooth and has a nice nutty aftertaste. Not overtly complex, but a good mix of earthy flavors make this very tasty. Not one of the best brown ales, but it’s not bad either.

Dark brown with reddish accent. Slightly nutty accent and a hint of molasses. Light body. Slightly chewy. Hints of toffee, vague toastiness.

Tap @ brewpub. So dark brown it’s almost opaque. Bland nose, does not impart much but the flavors are nicely husky. Slick palate. This was my favorite of the SD Brewing offerings that night.

ON tap at brewery. Clear copper brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet molasses aroma. Caramel, brown sugar, and a mild nuttiness to the finish.

tap at the brewpub - This one has a very mild malt aroma and an easy going caramel malt flavor. It’s medium bodied and smooth, just another straightforward, unremarkable brown ale. Not bad.
