Commercial Description:
A dark smooth ale that is rich and satisfying. This beer has hints of caramel and roasted malts, which are accompanied with a combination of Willamette and Cascade hops. The best brown ale you’ll ever try!

Draft- not that impressed, Some metallic flavor going on there, that I am not sure can be attributed solely to unclean coppery tasting taps. Either way, not a good thing. Loved the Mission trail Pale Ale, and that is a much better and enjoyable option.

Tap, San Diego Brewing. Pours a dark brown/ruby color. No head at all. Dark roasted chocolate/coffee aroma. Flavor is quite roasty with some malts and cofee. Some chocolate as welll. Bitter roasted malty finish. Good brown.

On draught at the brewpub while during trip to California. Dark brown colour nearly no aroma, just some roasted tones. A very borring taste, speciel for a nut brown. Hints of the flavour of little roasted barley, some dryness to the end.

Draft at SDBC. Maybe I should stop being so hard on brown ales. I have found another one I actually like. Dark brown with a decent head. Left nice lacing. Aromas of mocha and roastiness. Flavors were the same with a decent nutty aftertaste. Pretty tasty.

Tap. Nice roasty aroma with lots of chocolate maltiness and cocoa powder. Smells good. Moderately hazy brown color with a light tan head. Quite roasty and toasty with a nice sweet finish. Coffee notes and chocolate are present. Has a great body and mouthfeel. Good work.

(Draft: San Diego Brewing Company in San Diego, CA) This is one outrageously nutty beer, probably too nutty for the style, but I really don’t care, it’s frickin’ delicious! The nose is very strongly nutty, quite malty, and a bit sour; And the flavor echoes the nose, being strongly malty and nutty, very toasty, moderately bitter; The mild sweetness fits well; Medium bodied, but rich, velvety and smooth; Ruddy mahogany color; Bubbly, light tan head maintains a thin layer, leaving thick, bubbly lacing behind

Clear red-brown with a thin head and light lacing. Nice toasted malt flavors with balancing floral hops. Strong roasted malt flavor balancing hop bite and lingering bitter finish. Light to medium body and nicely carbonated.

Brown with a small tan head. Taste some caramel and toffee. Very similar to their amber.
