San Diego Summer Love Saison

Dark orange colored brew with no head. Aromas of fruity yeast, orange, spice, grapes, apple cider. Pretty fruity flavors, sweet and yeasty with a touch of mustiness. A little spicy in the finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Nice refreshing aromas off this yellow/orange pour. Spice and citrus on the aromas, more on the flavor, but I liked the nose better. Good

Pint at the brewpub. A very nice saison. Spice and sweetness. Some banana and a flovorful candy type clove. Nice job.

Sample at the brewpub; gold in color.. Aroma was musty with a pronounced banana and yeast component. Flavor of banana and yeast, but not much spicing. Overall there was some good flavor, but not enough and not much in the way of spicing.

tap at the Ritual. Poured clear filtered, pastuerized, neutered bronze with a fluffy solidly constructed head. the nose was slightly yeasty, the flavors were yeasty as well with a bitter ending. Unfortunately, I had a real hard time distringuing any of the flavors, nothing really popped out other than the faceless yeast character. All in all, pretty damn weak.

On tap at Hamilton’s tavern. Pours a nice bright golden hue with a light head. Nose is very pleasant with floral notes. The flavor had a tangy, fruit infused taste that progressed into a mild hop finish. This would be an excellent beer to have on a warm afternoon, easy to drink one after another, after another! Very nice brew Dean!

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is clear gold with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing. Fruit and mild hops in the nose. Light-bodied with somewhat bitter hops, fruit and mild spice flavors. The finish is hoppy with a tart fruit aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

On draft at San Diego Brewing Company. Nice light flavor, touch of alcohol in taste, slight pepper feel. We learned from the bartender that it is the same recipe as the Ballast Levonian Saison and he let us do a side by side... The Ballast was better.
