Beer is clear, medium caramel brown with a small, white, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head.<P>The aroma is malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, caramel; Hoppy with moderate notes of lemon zest, herb and tea; Yeasty with a trace dough note; Trace of corny DMS.<P>The flavor is light/moderately sweet, lightly acidic with a short, lightly bitter, lightly sweet finish.<P>The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is soft. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot), with a note of peach, light note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, soft carbonation. Virtually no aroma whatsoever at the serving temperature. This is not a bad beer. A mild malt palate with a much heavier than expected malt body. Slight earthiness. Sporatic, but present lacing. There was also a whiff of buttered popcorn. Cereal grain malt flavor with the fruitiness again in the background. Good not great. joet (1622), Fulton, California, USA Sep 15, 2001 Sweet, fruity and yeasty aroma. Hints of apples and pears in the malt balance a sustained and elaborating bitter finish.
