Apr 9, 2006 On tap at the brewpub (2005 vintage). Pours dark brown with garnet undertones and an off-white head. Good lacing. Medium fruit aroma of plums and raisins. Big buttery sweetness to the mouthfeel. No discernable hops. Mid-palate tingle. Bolus of berries, chocolate, plums and raisins. And yet the mouthfeel is amazingly quick and crisp. Finish is an esophageal alcohol burn.

Apr 29, 2004 The brewery leaves a big to be desired, but the barley wine was excellent. Nice powerful sweet malt then ass kicking hops. Overall this is an excellent beer. I would advise to drink with food.

Mar 2, 2003 Updated: Mar 9, 2003Tap @ Toronado Barley Wine Festival (7 4 7 4 17). Dark color than others. Wood, oak, sweet, brown sugar. Rating at Brewpub (8 4 8 4 17). Extremely dark brown with a light brown head. Vinous, cherry, plums, raisins, slightly medicinal. Interesting and complex.

Feb 17, 2003 On tap at the 2003 Toronado Barleywine Festival: Not sure what this is hopped with but I don't like it. Really fruity aroma. Strong dark crystal malt flavors. Some dark chocolate. Plums. Alcohol aroma and flavor. Not impressed.
