Pacific Northwest Vacation 2007

8/26/2007: San Juan Mt. Finlayson Ippa-Weizen has a cloudy apricot color. The moonscape-like head is foamy and frothy, off-white in color, long-lasting, and deposits think, foamy lacing on the glass. Banana and pineapple seem to be the predominate characteristics in the aroma. It smells like "Starburst candy" according to my wife. Either way, it is appealing. However, the flavor is weird. It is very dry and dusty with some fruit, yeast, and milkd to moderate spice and bitterness in the flavor. This beer has a medium body, a creamy texture, and is smooth on the palate. My wife said that this beer is "really interesting". Indeed.

4 oz draught sample (6.7% Alc By Vol, OG 15.7 Balling, Brewed 7/16/2007) at the Front Street Ale House in Friday Harbor, Washington. Rating #1 for this beer...
