Jul 24, 2009 From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Roasted and toffee aroma, hint of butter. Toffee caramel and roasted malt flavours with alight butterish note. Decent bitterness in the finish. Lasting toffee and butterish impression.

Jul 1, 2008 Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a clear orange-amber color with a thin light beige head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. The aroma is of caramel and earthy malt. Light to medium body with a sweet malty character. Some caramel and hops are present too. The finish is charred malt with a lightly bitter malt aftertaste that does not last. Just average overall.

May 4, 2008 On tap at SM Brewery--Poured a stellar amber-chestnut body with a medium white head. Faint malty, traditional English/Scottish style appeal. Dry, crisp, earthy flavor. A little thin and bland in the finish.

Jan 17, 2008 on tap-pours a thin to patchy light tan head and dark amber/copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, secondary English metallic (EKG?) hops. Dry finish. OK carbonation.

Jan 1, 2008 22 oz bottle, purchased at brewpub. Pours clear, deep copper brown with a moderate sized beige head that leaves thin lace. Aroma of caramel, figs and floral hops with clover, ash and paper. Burnt toffee flavors, roasty and ashy, floral hops, sweet basil and cardboard. Medium body and prickly carbonation.

Dec 21, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. A true amber pour with a foamy off white head. Hints of malt on the nose and much more hops than I would expect. A pretty malty brew with nice hints of bitter. A solid mouthfeel and pretty good carbonation. A lot of body for an amber ale and a decent hop bitter make this a fine amber ale.
