Nice rich, full bodied ale. When the beer first him my mouth, I could immediatley taste a slightly sweet malt flavor. As the beer continues down the throat, the beer becomes increasingly smooth, sweet, and ends with a clean, pleasant aftertaste. You can definitley tell this beer is higher in the alcohol content.

(Draft: San Marcos Brewery & Grill in San Marcos, CA) This is a nice full bodied brew with a bold, malty flavor, moderately roasty and bitter, and very sweet. All flavor elements stay fairly consistent from start to finish. I don’t know the ABV, but it seems higher in alcohol. The nose is malty and lightly roasted, but a bit light when compared to how flavorful the beer tastes. Rich, round mouthfeel, smooth, could be a bit cloying to some people as the sweetness lingers on and on. Fairly dark brown in color, but light enough to see through. Light brown head pours at least half an inch thick, settling to a thin layer. Pretty much no lacing.

Tasted at the 2004 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest.Medium brown color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is malt, brown sugar and spices. A medium bodied American Strong Ale. Malts are slightly roasty, brown sugar, and very sweet. Very smooth taste. Clean taste. Sort of a ramp up dunkel. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
