San Miguel Especial

Can 0.33 l. Bought in Spain. Light clear yellow colour with white head. Quite ordinary although with a little more malt than usual.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. It poured a very pale golden colour with a big light white head that settles down fast in the glass. The aroma smells of malts and hops. The flavour is bitter and dry and tastes of water and malts. It has a short aftertaste. Overall a regular pale lager that is a nice thirst-quencher in the heat, but nothing more.

Clear, golden with white head. Lots of hops in the aroma. Soft carbonation. Bitter aftertaste.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours pale yellow, rather gold or pale gold colour or body, perfectly clear, carbonated like a fizzy drink, head is white and foamy, minimal hints of lacing.
Aroma: Another kind of skunkyness, very wattery, weak, thin, strong and heavy corn, rather unpleasant and rather weak, chemical, artificial and generally weak.
Flavour: Not the worst, there is a distinctive bitterness on palate, corn, some thin malted barley, popcorn, hops not that great, leaving rather skunky&nasty aftertaste, finish duration is medium. Some additional sweetness can be felt.
Palate: Body is light, texture is wattery, carbonation on palate is medium to high, finish feel is chalky, a bit grainy, corny, lightly alcoholic, medium sweet.

Not much to say.... It may be my least favorite beer in the world.... but... but... but.... Drinking this in Barcelona, hanging out in the Rambla.... it’s a good thirst quencher.
