Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA Jan 22, 2008 On draft at brewery, consumed 01/21/08. Cloudy yellow, served with lemon wedge. Good head. Some banana and clove notes in nose. Wheat flavor is strong, but the clove and banana notes carry over from the nose with subtlety. Sort of splits the difference between American and German styles. Interesting. jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jan 16, 2008 on tap-pours a dissipating white heads and cloudy gold color. Aroma is banana/clove, yeast, wheat. Taste is banana/clove, yeast, wheat/light malt. OK effervescence. MMM...Beer (385), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 8, 2003 Hmmm. Looking at the other ratings for this one, either my palate was off (more than usual) or the beer was off. It wasn't bad, just not that great. Standard cloudy color, with a weak nose, and a bit rough on the palate. I guess I just expected more. drinkbeer (280), Redondo Beach, California, USA Aug 8, 2003 Had a pitcher of this last night. Served with a glass of lemons on the side. Wheaty smell. Nice hazy pale golden color. Taste is semi-sweet and refreshing. BeerLimey (1875), California, USA Mar 14, 2002 Top rate hefeweizen that unlike most of these So Cal brewpub beers doesn’t compromise. Faint banana aromas really come through well on the palate. Lightly carbonated but pretty smooth throughout. Briefly citric. May lack complexity but does all the right things and does them well.
