The aroma and flavor contain toasted caramel, butter toffee, and touches of roastiness and maple syrup. Overall the flavor is slightly sweet, but there is also a tinge of hoppy bitterness in the finish that keeps this beer balanced. This medium-bodied brew has a moderate level of carbonation and is quite smooth. This beer has enough going on it it to keep it interesting. I like the "roasty-toasty flavor" and the maltiness. This is a good beer.

Sweet, astringent hops coupled with a more sweet malty based overtone. Medium bodied, yet a bit young in flavorings; sweet nuts and toffee, some caramel to be noted. Pours a clear dark amber brew with a fast dissolving beige head that leaves behind a thin film top and a very thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some flowery hops, apples, and dried fruit. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of a slight sour caramel and apple character. Finish is slightly dry, with a mild biscuity aftertaste. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Had this beer on 6/7/2007. Aroma is a mild roasted malt scent. Color is a deep amber with nice carbonation and head. Taste is rich and caramely. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp. Finish is a caramely roasted malt flavor with a nice bitterness on the end. After a few sips there seems to be a very mild sour feel in the very end. Overall I rate it as a GOOD, nice drinking beer that seems well rounded. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear copper color. Head was thick and light tan with decent retention. Some lace was left behind on the glass. Aroma was of brown sugar and husky grain. Delicately sweet on the tongue with lightly toasted malt and malty brown sugar flavors. There was also some pleasant flowery hop flavor. Not a bad amber. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
