Cloudy yellow. Smell of honey, lemons, malt and sugar. Taste of lemons, sugar, malt, honey and some earth. Very sweet but it does taste like lemons. Its ok but I would not drink this all the time.

8/12/2007: I just recently received a bottle of Sand Creek Hard Lemonade as a bonus from buckybeer. I enjoy all beer, including fruit beer, but I figured my wife would really like this one since she loves lemon juice in her water and lemonade in general, so I saved it for her...

Here are my wife’s comments: "Color is very pale yellow with a white head. The beer is fizzy with small bubbles. It smells like lemonade - not just lemons as there is some sweetness to it. It tastes like lemon drops or those candy-coated lemon balls (I think she meant Lemonheads). Mmm... It’s pretty good! It’s much better than something like Mike’s Hard Lemonade as it doesn’t taste fake. Not as good as New Glarus Belgian Red, Raspberry Tart, or fruit Lambic, but better than most beer..." Well, it looks like she really liked it and enjoyed it quite a bit. She has a smile on her face with toungue out. There is also a lot of lip smacking going on!

My comments: Sand Creek Hard Lemonade pours a cloudy and extremely pale straw color. Actually, it’s nearly white with a tinge of yellow to it! The is a small, whipped white head that sits on top and lasts for a decent length of time as well. The beer appears to be moderately to generously carbonated, but not quite what I would call "fizzy". The aroma reminds me of corn syrup with lemon juice sqeezed into it; there is a lot of lemon smell alont with a sweet base. This beer is quite sweet, but the tartness of the lemon really balances it out. It tastes very much like the inside of a Lemonhead! The lemon tastes real though. The body of this beer is medium-light and it is smooth on the palate. It’s even a little sticky on the lips. The carbonation bubbles are really small and mellow. I actually really like this beer as well (especially since it’s one I can give to my wife!). I think that Sand Creek did a really nice job with this beer. It it everything that <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/leinenkugels-sum Summer Shandy isn’t and unlike or any other "Hard Lemonade". It really exceeds all expectations that I had...

12 fl. oz. bottle from buckybeer. Thanks Mark! I’m really glad that you sent this beer. Another beer that I can add to that list that my wife will actually drink! Rating #6 for this beer...

Pours a cloudy dull golden with a faint head. For what it is the aroma is pretty decent. Not much else top say except that is smells like lemon. Not fake lemon but pretty a natural aroma. Flavor is very sweet malts and lemon. Actually it is sort of tasty. At least around here it is selling very well. I think it is mostly the gals buying it up.

cloudy but clear if that makes any sence a light yellow tint w/ a light white head and no real lace. Smells lemony zesty almost soapy and a bit grainy, yet very sweet. Palate is harshly carbonated and a bit thin. Flavor is nicely lemonaid like w/ a touch of bread and tons of basic grains and lots of sugars. The taste is ok.. I’d take this over a mller or a mikes lemonaid any day.

Pours to a super hazy yellow body with a creamy bleached white head. The aroma is lemony with a pale malt base. The flavor actually is not that bad. Simple pale malts and tart lemons. Sugary sweet. Actually drinkable. The palate is sweet and tart. Sugary and refreshing. I didn’t think this was as bad as the others have stated.

Bottled. Poured a slightly hazy pale golden with nothing going on for head. Aroma picked up a whole lot of lemony notes with very little "beer" presence. Flavor picked up the same lemon notes.. but came across as real lemon juice.. definitely a pale malt backing to it.. tasty, but not very much of a beer. Light-bodied on the palate with some lemon tartness. This was actually a decent offering.

It has been reported that Mark Knoble from the brewery states it is a all malt pale lager brewed with pure lemons. So it IS a beer. So if it is learned that I have been duped so be it. Cloudy light straw color with a nearly instantly vanishing white head. All that is left is a white ring around the edge of the glass. Heavy lemon aroma, not overly sweet, but certainly lemons. Hints of dry grains, similar to granary filled with oats. Light lemon grass as well. Sweet lemon start that has a quick side diversion with soap, cardboard and grain. Very little malt presence. Finish has more lime than lemon flavors. Very small amount of malt noted in the linger, yet the sweet somewhat sticky lemon juice remains. Don’t know the marketing aspects, but I would rush into the fruit beer market at this time.
