bottle. pours dark brown with tan head. nose of toffee, some chocolate, and nuts. flavor has nice smooth toffee, chocolate, and some dark fruits. really clean and smooth finish. tastes like a baltic porter with lager yeast but maybe it’s not. enjoyed this.

Pours a dark nearly opaque ruby brown; like dark cola. Head is an orange/tan which is vibrant and full initially, but quickly diminishes to a thin espresso on the surface. Aroma is baker’s chocolate and coffee. Taste is bitter chocolate, toffee, espresso and some semi-sweet vinous characteristics. ABV goes un-noticed in the taste and aftertaste, but I’m thinking 8%. Very, very good; does seem more stout-like rather than porter though.

12oz bottle shared by Sliffy & Pud - Poured dark brown with a short offwhite head and lots of lace. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malts, some dark fruits, and a touch of liccorice. Flavor is dark chocolate mostly but I got some raisin notes and a good dose of roasted malt flavor as well. Smooth and easy drinking. Slightly watery on the palate but not overly so. A pretty smooth drinking big porter. Enjoyable.

Bottle shared by puddintane: Pours a nice black with a creamy tan head. Aroma, rich and roasty, coffee, with some sweet notes. Flavor, roasted malts, sweet chocolaty notes, with some coffee, and earthy tones as well. Very nice brew.

Bottle from buckybeer (thanks!) Black, with just a slight reddish tint. milky, chocolatey, coffee-y, vanilla-y aroma - Nothing really unexpected, but very nice nonetheless. Similar notes are echoed in the flavor, plus a touch of woodsy bitterness. Very enjoyable, and not just because I’ve had my fill of semi-crappy Lithuainian lagers lately...

clear dark brown with ruby edges, fine tan head, streaks of lace, rich milk chocolate aroma with a slight sweet fruity edge, creamy body, rich chocolate flavor, touch of sweetness to bring out the chocolate, light dry bitterness,

Appearance: Pours a red-edged, near black body with a full, khaki-colored head. Smell: Rich, dark malty aroma of chocolate and ripened (and subsequently over-roated) fruits - reminiscent of a Black Forest cake. Taste: Sweet chocolate-coffee flavor with hints of earthy sorghum, dark fruits, and light spices. The finish is mostly roasty in nature, but also has a light floral hoppiness to it. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Drinkability: This is the first beer from Sand Creek to really grip me with both hands around my neck and force me to keep drinking because it was just so tasty.

Dark brownish color. Smell of malt, chocolate, coffee, rasins and brown sugar. Taste of roasted coffee, chocolate, minor alcohol, brown sugar, toffee/caramel, hops and some vanilla. Very well done for this brewery!
