Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a huge rocky brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate and coffee. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of bitter chocolate and coffee, leading to a bitter dessert chocolaty finish. Nice.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Skyview. Pours black and opaque with a beige head. Burned, coffeish aroma. Medium body with burned coffee notes and some hints of dark, bitter chocolate. The finish is dry but not overly bitter. Quite a lively carbonation that could indicate a slight infection, but nothing that spoils the beer. 171107

Black color; big head. Coffeish aroma, dry, a bit of ashes. Quite good body strength, good mix of caramel and roasted malt and coffee, a bit milky, round, well mixed together, better that I expected after the aroma. Good.

Bottle. A black beer with a big beige head. The aroma and taste is roasted and of chocolate and coffee and tar. Medium to full body with a dry roasted finish.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of Ughsmash. Poured a dark brown color with red edges and an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of cofee grounds, chocolate, and some oats. Tastes of coffee grounds, chocoalte, and some vanilla. A coffee beer should have coffee in the aromas and tastes, and this one did. Body on the thinner side.

Bottle... VBWT2008... Pours dark and sits black in my glass with a small, creamy, lightly tanned head. Great retention. Big chocolate-milk with fractions of coffee and caramel in the nose. Barely medium-bodied and watery with medium carbonation. Sweetness and bitterness are evenly matched with a whisper of acidity thrown into the fusion. Finishes crisp and well-roasted. CaptainCougar supplied the bottle!

Pours an opaque black with a thin, spotty-lacing dark tan head. Has a rich roasty coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate nose with some oats. Body is a little thin and perhaps overcarbonated, but has nice coffee flavor, light caramel sweetness and earthy roasted malts with a hint of coffee tartness toward a nice, lingering, smooth dark chocolate finish without any trace of alcohol. A pretty enjoyable lightly sweet coffee stout.
