| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Tasted 09/09/09. 12oz bottle. Pitch hue with a web and thick ring of khaki head. Aromas of Dark chocolate and burnt toast. Medium bodied with moderate effervescence. Bit tangy and bitter in the middle, but the finish is so smooth with a sticky cloying malt sweetness. Modest tingling effervescence. Slight coffee astringency. Smooth and right on style, but not quite enough body. Shakesbeere (54), Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2009 A handsome dark pour, but the palate is a little light compared to other oatmeal stouts. Aroma is of roasted chocolate. Flavor is of roasted malt and chocolate with a slight sour character in the finish. It’s pretty good, but a little watery -- there are better oatmeal stouts out there. chicagodri (1057), Chicago, Illinois, USA
