I had no idea what this beer was when ordered and still didn’t while drinking it. Clear copper colored with a tiny off white head. This is the least hopped IPA imaginable. Plenty of biscuit and caramel and mildly bitter. Finish offered a hint of fruit and pepper. Interesting and enjoyable but "wonderfully hopped" is an exaggeration.

Malts tend to dominate the hops here. Mild to medium hop presence. Seems more like an APA. Sessionable but not special iabeerguy (171), Iowa, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 10, 2009 12 oz. bottle at the pre- GTOM guild party. Poured to plastic a light amber with a modest, off white head. Light grassy and citrusy hop notes were present in the nose with some supportive malt following up the moderate hop bitterness in the flavor and finish. More of a lighter American Pale to me but much better than one other IPA review. joshpiledean (227), Ames, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Pours cloudy golden, fluffy head, with chunks that stick to the side of the glass. Like little blobs. aroma is dominated by hops, mostly piney with some citrus notes. Some light malt sweetness is present as well. Body is good, tastes a bit flat on the tounge. Some sweet malts present themselves first. Hops come in toward the end, dry finish.
Not a bad IPA, just finished kinda dry. Ceebs25 (233), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Nothing too crazy or out of the ordinary with the aroma, but smells to be a fairly standard american ipa. Some florals, some citrus, and also some melon, caramel, cereal grains and light tart candy. Bountiful, cloud-like white head, good retention and clumpy lacing, slightly cloudy medium body, and orange amber in color. A pretty pour. The balance in the flavors seems slightly off to me, as initially there’s a good light balancing sweetness, but it quickly gets drowned out by hops till it becomes alittle too dry and hoppy at the end even with the flavors being far from overpowering. Florals, citrus, zest, melons, light caramel, and light grain blend in the notes. So even though I don’t find this one to be the finest ipa in the world, its really not all that bad and is fairly tasty. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Bottle, with Traci and Bill at the Rose & Thorn in Middle Amana. Slightly hazy orange, good dense off-white head. Citrus hop nose, strawberries, touch of cinnamon. Dry, fairly salty bitterness, pithy orange peel finish. A bit thin, a little rough around the edges, but still fairly pleasant beer. CanIHave4Beers (883), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 A nice enough little beer. Pours an orangeish gold color with a nice fluffy white head and the obligatory lace. Aroma has a nice caramel character with some herbal spiciness with a little bit of sweet resiny character. Flavor is piney and pretty bitter with a good biscuit malt balance.
