chandler0201 (341), Durham, North Carolina, USA Mar 11, 2009 Nice aromas for a red ale, has some florals and spice, with a spicy and somewhat vinegary flavor. Smooth and drinkable. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Feb 27, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Clear brownish amber with a nice solid beige head. They served it in a plastic pint ’glass’ for some reason and so the lacing stuck really well. Aroma is tangy malts but no obvious hoppiness really. Flavor is pure crystal malt. A total iced tea bomb. A little salty and a little lactic. I was surprised to hear the bartender tell me it was 8.5% because I don’t taste any booze. But that’s the only pro in this beer. Easy enough to drink, just not very flavorful or interesting.
