bottle, at Dickinsonbeer’s Oktoberfest. dark brown color, and a little lighter at the edges. medium tan head. aroma is roasted malt and coffee. high carbonation and melted vinyl flavor, butter roasted malt. finish is mostly clean.

I’ve yet to find a tasty organic beer, and this one was no different. The pour was black with a decent tan head. Aroma was bitter chocolate and slight hints of grass. Taste was very much bitter chocolate and some of that earthy flavor.

22 oz. bottle, from BevMo LaJolla. Pours black and opaque with a large tawny-brown head. Aroma is roasty, milky and bitter chocolate with crass notes and hints of coffee. Very roasty in the flavor, bitter herbs, dandelion milk, sour and astringent - moreso than what I was expecting. Medium body, a little flat and oily in the mouthfeel.

Bomber. Pours watery black with a bubbly brown head. Aroma is nice, full of roasted malts, cocoa, toffee, and some hops. The taste is completely unbalanced. Tons of burnt coffee with a flavor that I can only describe as a custard/wood/charcoal mixture. Must be the organic part of the beer. Astringent and watery, both not good for a stout. Got better as it warmed, but never got good.

22oz bottle. Nearly opaque black with a huge brown rocky head that required multiple pours. Baking chocolate, husky roast malt, and some caramel in the aroma. Initial burst of sweetness overtaken by a roasty, almost meaty malt character that dominates the flavor. Vegetal twinge of hops in the finish with residual roastiness and astringency. Mouthfeel is a light medium, rather dry.

Bottle from BevMo La Mesa. Pours a deep dark black with ruby around the edges. Slighty sweet malty aroma with some chocolate right up front. Some bitter coffee. Moderate roasted coffee flavor. Tastes like a lightly sweetened coffee drink. Big roasted coffee aftertaste that lasts.

This smelled very promising, a lovely chocolate coffee! The taste was really not what I expected though. It was nowhere near as smooth as a good chocolate-coffee stout should be, so much carbonation. Yes, asstray.

Bottle pours a pitch black with a huge tan head. Earthy, bitter chocolate leather and coffe aroma. Flavor is lightly bitter chocolate, charcoal and dark roasted malts. Slightly thin palate. Fairly lively carbonation for the style. Thanks to lukin013 for sending this out.
