A bit of a foamer. Highly roasted maltiness on the nose, very inviting, with a touch of vanilla. Foamy caramel colored head finally settles. Tingly mouthfeel, though unintended, is enjoyable. Lots of coffee, burnt malt and some toffee. Hints of bitterness make this quite stout. Very enjoyable…kill the foam and we have a real winner here. Had my second one and lost the carbination issues. Possibly the first was a bad bottle, but I am increasing my scor on this outstanding brew.

At first I thought this was going to be just another cute label and nothing more. Times like this it’s very good to be so very wrong. What an awesome treat. Can’t say enouhg about this - partly because I’m so bad at my descriptions, but also because this was not really over the top in any respect, just spot on in being GOOD. Velvety texture and maintaining an incredible balance between sweet and dry. Just superbly made. Thanks for sharing it with me Joe.

Bottle... This beer rocks! ... Pitch black with a large, rocky, light brown head. Good retention. The aroma is pure chocolate and coffee bliss with lesser notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Terrific balance in flavor. A swirl of bitter-sweet mocha with plenty of down-home burnt, ashy bitterness. Medium to full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes very chocolatey, burnt and bitter. What a surprise! A very well-made, moderate to low gravity stout. World class organic brew! A shout goes out to tever for shipping this bottle of joy to me!

A quite roasty smoky aroma. Flavor is quite nice. A bit malty but sith some coffee notes. Not particularly rich, but enjoyable enough.

Wow, this is surprisingly delicious and dare I say upstaged the two other beers at the table from nationally reputable breweries. Bright, shiny and prominent cocoas, a deep roasted spine, a thin layer of rich carmels, absent fruit, beautiful in the glass. Wow, this is fun surprise.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with Saarlander (thanks!). Bottle stamped 102506 (I’m assuming bottled on date?). Poured a dark black color with a larger sized brown head. Aromas of roast, dark chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Nice aroma. Tastes of roast, chocolate, coffee, and a little earthy. Starts out medium sweet and ends in a light bitterness. I was somewhat surprised by this especially with the word ’organic’ in the name.

Sampled out of a 22 oz bottle from BevMo. Pours nicely into a pint glass with rich dark brown hue and roasted malts. Overall a very good beer and now I want to check out the brewery!

Courtesy of tever: Bottle filled nearly to the top, with about a quarter inch of headspace. Pours a very carbonated opaque with a large, airy, rocky brownish head. Aroma of black cherries, coffee and dark chocolate with some smoke. Body starts effervescent and lightly sweet with some caramel malt sprinkled with charcoal smoothing out toward a drier, roasted dark chocolatey finish. I thought that based off the aroma that this might be infected, but I don’t taste any acidity in the body. Fairly complex and very drinkable, once some of the excess carbonation escapes. A nice stout.
