Sanwald Kristall Weizen

Bottle thanks to mes. Alround rating: This was out of date. Pale lager malt, very light wheatyness, some cardboard sweetness, herbal lightly floral hop. Its more like a clean but sweet lager now.

clear golden body with a thick white head. Smells of banana, clove, and light spice. Average taste just like the smell. Pretty average kristallwizen although clean, crisp, and refreshing.

50cl bottle poured into a weizen glass. Golden orange with minimal head. Aroma is heavy banana and clove. Flavor was the same with some yeast. Mouthfeel was a little watery with medium carbonation. Short lightly bitter finish.

(BBE 9/08) Golden colored with little yellow head. Banana and berries dominate the aroma, some wet wheaty malty note also here. Thin to medium bodied, carbonated, still watery palate. Flavor has slight banana, still dominated by wet cardboard and some lemon. Aftertaste has sitll some banana, Basic aroma, bad flavor.

Bottle. Lemon, banana, and wheat malt aroma. Golden yellow color with moderate head. Sour lemon and wheat malt flavor. A nice enough wheat ale but not many Weizen characteristics.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Fine foam. Tastes very fruity, like a very normal hefeweizen. Well balanced finish. Really good!

Not a huge fan of Kristall Weizen. I’m a bigger fan of the unfiltered hefe. This kristall weizen wasn’t bad though, when you put a piece of citrus fruit in it. Overall, not so bad.

Bottled(500ml). -slight sweet banana and bubblgum aroma, very mild wheaty notes, crisp and refreshing but something is missing...
