Not a huge fan of Kristall Weizen. I’m a bigger fan of the unfiltered hefe. This kristall weizen wasn’t bad though, when you put a piece of citrus fruit in it. Overall, not so bad.

Bottled(500ml). -slight sweet banana and bubblgum aroma, very mild wheaty notes, crisp and refreshing but something is missing...

Served as Weizenkrone in a Thai restaurant in Stuttgart. Clear golden with a small head. Light wheaty aroma. Smooth and refreshing, but a bit too carbonated. Lemon and sweet banana flavour. Went very well as an apéritif to delicious Thai food (21.04.06).

Bottled. Rich, clear golden pour (with a hint of copper) and a fair head. Really, didn’t expec that much color from a Kristall. Aroma of bananas and bubblgum, sweet, touch of wheat. Crisp and sweet, also a bit thicker than expecting, but still, obviously filtered. Carbonation level was a litte higher than I would have liked, screwed with the palate. Bit of an oily touch at times, and an unflattering splash of tangy acidic sourness in the aftertaste. Detractors aside, a very good Kristall overall.

Update: Strangely enough, I prefer this to the "normal" Sanwald HW.

Bottled at Zwiebel, Esslingen, Baden-Württemberg. Sold as Weizenkrone. Golden coloured. Some bananas and yeast in the aroma and in the flavour. Slightly sweet. Quite refreshing.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pretty, clear pilsener golden with a tall, handsome head. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Surprisingly rich wheaty esters - almost as fruity as a genuine Hefe. Nice. 170303

clear and bright golden colour, little foam, the expected banana aroma is there of course, medium-bodied, quite sweet with a high carbonation, lingering sweetness in a finish showing more corny and banana notes - a good weizen
