mcdav2154 (289), Germany Jul 26, 2009 Brown body with a thick tan head. Smell is of banana, roasted malt, citrus, and kind of a musty hay but not offensive. Taste is banana, nuts, and citrus with a medium hop bite. Not too shabby. delnoche (210), Germany May 18, 2009 50cl bottle poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy dark amber brown with plenty of beige head. Nose is citrus, bananas, yeast. Flavor is roasty with notes of banana. Finish is slightly bitter and medium lasting. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark May 11, 2009 Bottle 50cl. Unclear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate yeasty, banana, rubber notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090321] harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England May 10, 2009 500ml bottle from Utobeer. Cloudy dark brown, big thick beige head. Really quite sweet on the malts, a bit like the straight weizen, it lacks any real flavour or character. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Apr 2, 2009 (BBE 1/09) Dark red-brown colored with hazy appearance. Big yellow head. Roasted and grainy aroma with mild banana, spices and yeast, good aroma for dunkelweizen. Thin to medium bodied, slightly watery palate. Flavor starts with more grains and mils roastiness, aftertaste turns to caramelly and somehow biting with yeast. Misses some carbonation after nice aroma. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Mar 30, 2009 Bottle, 4.9%. Sweet and malty aroma, almost sugary. Hazy brown colour, small head. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma suggests. Some malt though, but a slightly dry finish. OK balanced. ComradeK (65), Australia Jan 12, 2009 500ml glass at Ochs’n Willi restaurant in central Stuttgart. This is a truly excellent beer! It is a clear ruby red, with a firm, lasting head. There is a high degree of bitterness to start, yet this mellows to a smooth, sweet and crisp finish. The predominant flavours are apple and cinnamon. This is possibly the best beer I have had. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 19, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy deep orange to amber with a slowly collapsing and light tan head. Mild roasted aroma with a solid wheaty ester aroma. Flavour is sweet and banana fruity with a mild yeasty touch. Light malty flavour mixed with estery notes into the finish. Ends fruity and medium dry.
