Bottle. Sweet orange-banana and toffee malt aroma. Cloudy brown color with a hint of orange and moderate white head. Sweet orange and light malt flavor - high acidity and moderate carbonation. Flavor extremely light. Nothing bad but just not much there.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Fine aroma, fine foam. The could be a little bit more fruity and a little bit stronger. Nevertheless a good dunkelweizen.

Yoghurt and banana in the aroma. Yoghurt flavor, somewhat yeasty. Cherry and mandarin esters. Pleasant weizen.

On draught at Vaihingen Bahnhof Restaurant, Germany. Quintessential Dunkelweizen. Nice blume (head), rich color, and of course signature banana clove yeast strain. Could use a slightly higher alcohol level (5.4, say?) to fit the style better. Bonus points for being served in brewer’s weizen spiraled glass with festive natives dancing and toasting to health.

Bottled. Murky brown pour, whitew head. Aroma of banana, yeast, a bit of spice, but nothing particularly strong. Pleasant sweetness not dominated by the very mild malt. Best of the three Sanwald Weizen. A fuller body and stronger flavor would make this a good one - as it stands now, though, too weak for anything over a 3.

Bottled at Zwiebel, Esslingen, Baden-Württemberg. Hazy brown coloured. Notes of banana and yeast. A classic Dunkelweizen on the light side.
