Three years after the debut in mainland Japan, the beer gods have brought this to beer deprived Okinawa! Grassy scent with some hop spice, has a nice balance, crisp, biscuit sweetness with a lingering bitter follow. I’m not a huge fan of the style but this is pretty good overall and considering where it is from and by whom it is made, it is very good!

Oct 19, 2009 Draught at McLoughlin’s, Kyoto. Clear golden - white head. White bread, egg, flowery, bitter hoppy, high freshness, hay, straw, grainy. Nice.

Sep 9, 2009 Druaght in a beer bar in Hiroshima called "The Golden Beer Garden". Light fruitiness in the aroma. Flavour has a pleasant bitter hoppiness with some frutiness. Soft dry bitterness in the finish. Refreshing.

Jan 11, 2009 Updated: Feb 10, 2009Canned. Clear pale golden, rich airy head. Fruity nose with honey and god amounts of grassy, spicy hops. Dryish and rather light bodied, fruity and really grainy with growing late bitterness. Thirst quenching.

Nov 20, 2008 Updated: Feb 4, 2009At least they are trying. Would be a good summer beer. Slightly heavy for a pilsner (obviously in the german style). Has an above average taste and smell. Would be good as I said earlier, in the warmer weather. Along with Yebisu and premium malts this completes the trilogy of my favourite macro beers

Sep 17, 2008 Pours a clear standard watery gold with a sudsy pillow atop the glass. Yeast and bread on the nose. Mouthfeel is clean, malty, well rounded. Finish is bitter, peppery, slight bit of lemon, and high and dry. Kind of interesting.

Jul 24, 2008 New Release in the can, though unpasteurized. the best hops from any mainstream Japanese brewer. A big surprise. Good saaz aroma and flavor, long-lasting bitter finish. Very nice summer thirst quencher with a lot of character. Malts are simple but sufficient. I hope Sapporo has turned around from "dumbing down" to "hopping up."

Jul 17, 2008 canned. glad to try a japanese beer with some hop character. clear golden, tangy, menthol hop aroma, some apricot sweetness and crisp bitterness. one of the better canned japanese macros
