| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Bottle (334ml). Poured virtually black with a large, thick, frothy, tanned head which was average lasting. A strong, rich malty aroma with sticky toffee, burnt sugar, caramelized dates, currents, hints of milk chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Flavor was also rich, with toffee malts, burnt sugar, caramelized dried mixed fruits, chocolate, hints of cola with roast coffee and some licorice in the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel and a decent finish. Much better than I expected. motelpogo (4395), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Can. Watery and roasty - bit thin. Not so great, but if you like the schwarzbier style, it’s passable. Instead, try to find the bottles of Coero Shikkoro (a sweeter, richer schwarzbier).
