Canned. Very surprising...in a good way. Mahogany colour with a small oily head. Dusty, dark chocolate aroma and a little sweet aroma. Very nice flavour. Smooth and smoky with mild chocolate. Slight hop bitterness in the finish.

Can, shared by Gr0ve. A dark brown, almost black beer with a tan head. Mocha, coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Mocha, some fruityness, chocolate and coffee, but not much hoppy bitterness. Not much fruityness or bitterness at all, actually. Still pleasant, indeed. Medium to full, quite dry mouthfeel. Mocha finish. A really pleasant and balanced beer. A bit strange saying it’s balanced, as it’s sure on the dark side, but at least it feels balanced in a way. Cute! (080216)

Can shared by GrOve, thanks. Dark beer with red glow, fine head. A bit bread-lie dryness. Some cereals. Sweetness underneath, roasted grain, coffee.

Can provided and shared by GrOve, thanks. Dense and creamy light chocolate head. Color is dark brown to black. Quite aromatic; malty with roast, coffee and burnt caramel. Taste is sweet and nicely balanced; dark sweetish malts and gentle bittering hops. Well-bodied. Feels smooth in the mouth. Short malty, light bitter finish. A very nice one.

Tried this out of the can while walking home from Azabu-Juban, from Nissin supermarket. Recommended to me by my brother, I was quite impressed. Smelled like sweet caramel. Color on the lip of the can was extremely dark. Tasted of chocolate and slight coffee. Thick malt flavor and extremely smooth, not bitter at all. Definitely one of my favorite Japanese beers to date.

Smells of sweet sticky caramel. Pours an almost opaque black with a small creamy brown head. Taste is caramel and some coffee notes. Nice thick dark malt presence. One of the best Japanese beers I’ve had.

(Can 50 cl) Courtesy of nicolascage. Clear, reddish brown with a dense, light brown head. Lightly burned, malty aroma. Light in body with sweet accents of hard roasted malts that also leave some malt astringency. 191207

Can. Dark brown colour with a little head. Roasted aroma with hints of coffee. Flavour of roastedness and coffee, but very thin.
