Big creamy shiny darkish beige head. Deep dark red barely translucent body with lots of carbonation. Harmonic roasty caramel and milk coffee aroma with metallic notes. Aroma is too faint for a 7. Sweetish roasty metallic taste of licorice and coffee. Slightly watery. Dry metallic coffee aftertaste. Quite nice, a bit like a mild stout. (0.33l can.)

A deep dark reddish brown with a thick moka head. Pleasant chocolate and moka coffee aroma, very nice and classy. In mouth, a nice light chocolate malt with light hopping, roasted coffee beans, light metallic notes. This could be a porter. 330 mL can from Japan, 1 year old, BB 06-07.

Bottle. Clear black colour. Bit sweetish aroma of malt. Flavour is smooth and somewhat bitter-sweet with roasted malts. Thin mouthfeel. I prefer the normal Yebisu. Tasted again on Oct. 5th. Good to taste this again. It is more sweet than I recall but still good.

Pours almost black with a beige, fairly large bubbled head. Nose is yeasty coffee. Flavor is strong roastiness, but still thin and without much body. Boo.

Bottle. Black with tan head...soon gone. Touch fizzy and sticky on the palate. Flavours of roast malt & sweet liquorice predominate. Fairly decent dark beer

Dark black color, fizzy brown head that dissipates somewhat but leaves a light layer of bubbles on the surface. Malty, sweet aroma with a faint metallic hint. Flavors were predominantly malty and sweet, with hints of cocoa, and a slight bitterness. Heavy carbonation, a somewhat sticky mouthfeel, but a fairly dry finish...possibly even a bit watery. Definitely a go-to beer in terms of Japanese macros, but nothing too special in the grand scheme of things.
