Decent for what it is, with a slight metallic hop kick. Smooth drinking and almost reminds me of a weizen

Can purchased 01.20.09 from a conbini in Tokyo. Pours clear gold, white head. Aroma is hoppy and malty. Flavor is the same and hoppy bitter.

Can from the supermarket in Schipol airport. A reasonable clean and crispy lager, but to write "The Hop" on this in capitals is a bit too much. Cereal sweetness, but not much hoppy aroma or dryness. But it’s OK.

500ml can. pale golden with a quickly diminishing head. aroma of vanilla malt and hay. perhaps slightly more hop character than most japanese lagers, lightly grassy but no real bitterness

Quite typical of Japanese lager beers. Yebisu is the premium Sapporo brand and "The Hop" is a new product. However I can’t really get the hops in it. There is not stand out hop aroma on the nose and the palate while clean and refreshing is pretty similar to most Japanese beers. this beer uses Saaz hops according to the website, I guess they are going for a Bohemian style lager.

Can thanks to rayg1. Pours a clear and light gold with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet malt. The flavor is also dominated by malts and a grassy flavor, but there is some hops in there. But if your gonna call it ’the hop’ how about using a bit of hops? Anyway, it was not bad. Cool green can.

Canned. Orange/gold colour with a small white head. No real lacing. Clean, citrus aroma but not much hop. A "different" hop flavour...not strong, not bitter, not much of anything. Very light hop characteristics for something called "The Hop".

Pours a clear golden yellow. I’m excited about this one, perhaps I’ve found the first Japanese example of anything close to an American IPA or Pale Ale. Aroma is slightly hoppy, for once, after being subjected to a million pale lagers in Okinawa. The taste unfortunatley reveals that alas, this really nothing more than a slightly more hopped pale lager and really only affected the aroma of the beer and not really the flavor.
