500 ml can from Japan (thanks Pa!), shared with Luc, served cold in a tulip glass. MA26/09.

App.: Clear golden with a nice white froth. Aroma: Straight-forward malts with some wet hay and grass, slightly citrus hops. Palate: Medium body and fairly soft carbonation, smooth like a Pils. Flav.: Light cereal and malt, light Saaz hops – kinda grassy and peppery; dry with some bitterness, nice light malt finish.

A very drinkable lager.

A golden lager wth a thick frothy white head. A surprisingly hoppy resinous aroma, with light floating esters, veering in Saison territory. In mouth, a crisp malt with sustained German hops, a bit of sweetness, herbaceous. Medium bodied. 500 mL can shared rom probstk, May 26 2009.

Small white head. Yellow body. Clean floral hop and straw aroma. Dry pine needle and grass hop taste with notes of straw. Dry straw aftertaste. Nice. Very hoppy for industrial pale lager. (0.3l can.)

Decent for what it is, with a slight metallic hop kick. Smooth drinking and almost reminds me of a weizen

Quite typical of Japanese lager beers. Yebisu is the premium Sapporo brand and "The Hop" is a new product. However I can’t really get the hops in it. There is not stand out hop aroma on the nose and the palate while clean and refreshing is pretty similar to most Japanese beers. this beer uses Saaz hops according to the website, I guess they are going for a Bohemian style lager.

500ml can. pale golden with a quickly diminishing head. aroma of vanilla malt and hay. perhaps slightly more hop character than most japanese lagers, lightly grassy but no real bitterness
