| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Mar 7, 2004 Bottle. Definitely not a "stout" as I know one to be. It poured an average sized white head with fine-medium sized bubbles. The body was hazy and uncarbonated with a pale yellow hue. The nose was malty, hoppy and somewhat sweet. The flavor was nothing to write home about that's for sure. The mouthfeel was thin and this was a light bodied beer with no lacing. I definitely do not recommend this one, but then again, that's up to you. temporrari (327), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2004 Well it doens't look like a stout beer. My first Japanese brew. I guess if they think this is stout... Well they can have it. Strange. I didn't care for it much at all. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2004 This bottled brew is mislabeled as a Stout Draft when it is actually a light pale colored ale. Its head was large and foamy with fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a poor lace. The body was a slightly hazy uncarbonated straw yellow color and in no way looks like a stout draft or otherwise. The aroma was malty doughy floral and a bit grainy. The mouth feel was a smooth malt hop one with a flat finish. The flavor contained mild DMS somewhat astringent and otherwise malty and doughy. Frank (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2004 Piss yellow. Patchy white head and a few spots of lace. Biscuity malt nose with an edge of dusty honey. Some sweet/tart apple notes. I wouldn't really call it a helles but it's pretty tasty. bluevegie (2222), Perth, Australia
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 1, 2004 This is better than the other japanese beer that I have tried. Not saying that it is great but half decent for a refreshing drink. Pale straw colour, very little head, hop aroma, grassy taste and a metallic finish. Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2003 Why the heck is the word "stout" anywhere on this bottle? In any case, grainy malt aroma, faint hint of hops. Hazy golden color, OK head. Decent body, lightly hopped. Not an all bad sushi beer, beats the heck out of regular Sapporo.
