Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a nice white head. Malts and faint hops on the nose. Flavor is malty and grainy and pretty watery, but not terrible. What you’d expect from a Japanese macro.

Appearance: Golden Aroma: slightly earthy, grassy and slightly floral hops, moderately honeyed/ripe pear and orange malt Flavor: Fruit malt (like the aroma) is balance by restrained but ever-present bitterness. Finishes with a long, soft bitterness and lightly roasted grain notes. Palate: Smooth Comment: Leans a bit towards sweet malt, though fairly well balanced by the hops. Well-made but a bit innocuous. They aim for a mellow brew and that is what you get.

Draught. Lightly amber tinted golden color. Sweet malt is very well balanced by bitter noble hops. Not much hop aroma, but good bitterness. Much better fresh and on tap. Really a darn good major.

334 ml bottle from Systembolaget, Nordstan. Tiny white head. Brilliant, pale gold colored body. Modest aroma of dry, grainy malts with some faint hoppy notes of hay and metal. Soft, light sweet malt flavor, backed by some rather unfresh, grassy hops. Body is light plus. Dryish ending. Clean, but kInd of mellow, and rather bland.

Bottle 33cl.
Clear light yellow orange color with a small to average, fizzy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, rice, fruity, corn. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090517]

500 ml can from Japan (thanks Pa!), shared with Luc, served cold in a tulip glass. MA26/09.

App.: Clear golden with a fair white froth. Aroma: Light, minerally cereal/grain, a touch fruity, a touch of grassy/peppery hops, a little mustiness. Palate: Medium body and carbonation. Flav.: Malt/cereal, biscuit, toast, light grassy hops, really light fruitiness; dry with some bitterness.

Certainly not bad.
