Rather slippery, buttery off the cask. Some unusual and highly interesting dark malt flavours. Almost plummy notes.

Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. I have seen this at a lot of festivals, but never had it. Black/ruby colour with lasting beige head. Bit of sickly malt. No real hop but dryish finish. Syrupy malt. In fact very syrupy malt. Couldn’t drink too much of this. Nothing bad at all about it, but it’s like liquid malt.

A Sim rate (Cask at Planet Thanet): Aroma is surprisingly subtle. Slightly liquorice and blackberry. Really wish it was stronger. Gorgeous black / ruby colour. No head or lace. Slightly bitter flavour with definite liquorice, blackberry and red wine grapes. Strong alcohol finish.
