harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 23, 2009 Cask gravity at St Albans BF 09. Gold, slight haze, thin white head. Pretty good premium golden ale. Good fullness on the pale malts. Decent biscuit flavour. Some citrus fruityness on finish. Little hop bitterness but good citrusy furit. Fine. Idler (3), Wolverhampton, England does not count Dec 29, 2008 Slightly sweet, in the Black Country style, but with some hops as well. Nice body, and very moreish. It varies in quality, due to climatic conditions and subtle variations in the recipe, as befits an artisanal product. Martin, the new brewer, is doing a good job. This is my wife’s favourite draught beer, and I agree that it deserves a platform similar to the famous Dark Ruby. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 8, 2008 Cask at aberdeen Beer festival ... Very golden yellow ... Light fruity ... little caramel ... littl floral orange Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Jun 5, 2008 Cask in the three judges. Aroma is pale malts, nutty and peppery, theres some roasty character too but its a very pale beer. Taste is similar, it seems darker than what it actually is. hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 27, 2007 Cask, gravity at Milton Keynes Beer Festival ’07. Gold. Nutty malt aroma and taste with bready background and a little fruit. Medium bitter finish. Quite interesting. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Jan 29, 2007 Cask Pale orange beer with B.C."H.". Very subdued nose, with just some unspecific malts. Very malty, even patisserie flavours, cookie notes, with a rather good UK hops ending. Light to medium bodied, rather thin for S. Hughes habits. Very surprising indeed, but all in all a nice beer. DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Sep 12, 2006 Cask Handpump at the Fly In The Loaf, Liverpool 28/08/2006
Golden coloured smooth and slightly rich on the palate. Reasonably robust brown ale, fat fruity nose, sweet tempered bitterness. Pleasant stuff.
