MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Feb 8, 2009 A Mes rate. Gravicask at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Darkish golden brown with no head. Burnt candy sugar, plenty of rich malt, slight creamy alcohol and plenty of berry fruits. Very slight plastic notes but it’s no spoiler. Rich and warming malt and alcohol finish. Good length. A solid barley wine. downender (2537), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Feb 23, 2008 On gravity at the Old Tavern, Bristol 23/2/08. Amber coloured with no head. Sweet malt and grassy hop aroma. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Feb 19, 2007 Gravity, Dover BF. Copper. No head by the time I got to sampling. Warm, nutty aroma that carries over pretty directing to the flavor. Alcohol is mild and not at all overbearing, but also not much in flavor complexity or intensity for the abv. Pleasant, but kind of subdued.

Feb 2009 Dover Beer Fest. I found this rather sugary sweet at the festival and scored it 3.5 I bottled some and brought it home where I find it soft and smooth with a hint of alcohol warmth on the swallow. There is some cereal sweetness, but not over-bearing or unpleasant. Nice. [3.5]
