Commercial Description:
Mt. Marcy, Skylight, Algonquin...Majestic Adirondack High Peaks - They are the inspiration for our "High Peaks" series, a line of beers that are bigger, more complex and flavorful; beers that are meant to be sipped and savored. The second in our series, Saranac Imperial Stout, is brewed with eleven malts to balance a delicious chocolate and coffee roasted flavor with the spicy herbal character of the generous kettle and dry hops. At 50 IBU's this beer captures the essence of the Adirondacks. Enjoy!

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Very black, rich firm head. Citric tarry nose. Sticky unrefined body with lots of syerup and licorice. Rough and tarry with fairly low bitterness. A mess.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Black and opaque with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of hard roasted malt and dried fruit. Very solid body with plenty of burned malt and almost vinous pruny accents. Also plenty of sweet licorice, coffee and alcohol. Some malt bitterness in the finish. A very straight and well composed Imperial Stout. 190908

Pours an oily, nearly-opaque with a thin, spotty-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and dark chocolate with some band-aid phenols underneath. Body starts with some fizzy carbonation and dark caramel malts toward a roasty malty finish with some bittersweet dark chocolate character. An ok imperial stout, but needs more body and balance.
