zach8270 (1408), Henrietta, New York, USA Mar 21, 2008 (bottle - 12 oz) Dark black pour with a thick and lasting brown head. Aroma is surprisingly light and roasty with some good chocolate and coffee notes. Some alcohol, but not much. Flavor is strong and heavy with a lot of roasted malts, dark fruits, alcohol, and coffee. A light hop touch. Finishes very clean and leaves a slight hoppy and dark aftertaste.
robinvboyer (1007), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Sep 7, 2008 nice thick black pour, with a very small tan head. Aroma is alot of roasted malt, and not much else. the flavour is again loads of roasted malt, some licorice, a touch of chocolate, and some coffee. the aftertatse is very very bitter, with an intense burnt malt. meh the mouthfeel is quite wattery though, not the greatest imperial stout ive had. Sammy (3076), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2008 Enjoyed on tap at the Tap and Mallet. Black with good lacing. Coffee, and chocolate. A good blend. Buttery mouthfeel. Not too bitter, rated 50 IBU. thejoeshow (111), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 17, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a completely opaque brown/black with a very long lasting tan head that laces wonderfully. Nose is malty chocolate, roasty, coffee and there is a bit of astringency in there as well. Nice coffee, really roasted flavor with a little burnt characteristic in there as well. Mouthfeel is oily and lasting, very full. Nice Imperial Stout and one of the best from Saranac. lemasney (269), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Aug 16, 2008 RateBeer Rating, Style and Glass: 86, Imperial Stout, Snifter

Overall: Like a Wawa cappuccino but much darker and deeper. I will seek it out and have it again and again, as long as this price stands. It’s very well crafted, and it is a personal favorite. 20 out of 20. lb4lb (1388), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 7, 2008 Bottle in trade from the artist formerly known as Degarth. Thanks man!
Pours dark black with a lasting nice sized tan head. Smell is sweet, malty roasty and chocolatey. Taste is bitter, a bit burnt, slightly tart, and charred roasty malt. Semi rich body with medium carbonation. Bit of an odd metallic tartness to the finish that I could do without. Otherwise, this would be solid, but this really hinders the flavor.
