Sweet, with well balanced hops and malts. Copper colored. A little watery for my tastes, slightly bitter but an easy drinker.

Clear reddish-amber body with a small fizzy off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with some light grain in the background. Somewhat watery flavor with some caramel, dark malt, and a bit of grain.

This is overall a very good brown ale. Quite sweet, malty caramel, and nut on the toungue. Copious white head, fissly and remarkably drinkable. Also has its share of hops. Pretty good!

They could stand to cut back on the long name, as "best nut" should not appear on any label except that of x-rated material, which I believe is for another discussion. This beer is actually ok though, coming from those pesky guys at saranac who sit somewhere on the fence between microbrewers and some poorly disguised member of Budweiser brewing company. This feels a little better though that the others with a warming malt structure, with caramel, figs, nuts and winter spices. Creamy mouthfeel. Good beer. Purchased a single for $1.50 at Whole Foods in Falls Church, VA.

Dusty and caramel aromas. Treacly, somewhat sweet taste, finishes sticky on the palate. Clear brown with little to distinguish it in the glass.

Bottle: Reddish amber with an ordinary looking thin head. Not a bad little caramel malt aroma. Lightly nutty, but comes off with a starchy, adjunct-like afterbite that takes it down a notch. Drinkable enough.

Bottle. A surprise from Saranac, may be their best beer brewed. Poured a brown body with a good size head. Aroma is a nutty malt scent. Taste is malty with a slight hop precense and a sweet aftertaste.

Slight nutty flavor along with some hops. Dark brown in color. Good seasonal beer to try.
