Yet another mediocre Saranac product. Sampled from a 12 oz bottle the beer pours a medium mahogany color with a minimal white head. The color really is pretty attractive. The aroma is sour, malty, nutty ad has a hint of molasses. The flavor is predominantly nut with some maltiness and hops. There is a hint of sweet caramel. The beer is dry on the finish and a little thin. Drinkable but nothing to seek out.

Decent. Amber brown. Very malty, bits of chocolate and spiciness, good nutty character. Some toffee/caramel.

Pours brown with an off-white head that dissappears fairly quick. Pretty hoppy for a dark lager. Not bad but not great either.

Poured a crystal clear brown with a 3/8" white head that dissipated slowly retaining a slight head to the bottom of the glass. I could not describe the aroma other then to say it enticed me to give this selection a try. It went down smoothly and hinted of spice and nuttiness that I would say makes this brew a definite "keeper".

Rated: 2003 version. Someone correct me...does Saranac have a non-Seasons Best nut brown? This beer is scarce! Very nutty, with great nutty aromas. Finishes smooth, with nuts and malt and subdued hios all the way down. A great nut brown.

Nutty, damp tree bark aroma with a touch of molases. Clear root beer in color. Little head. Roasted malt taste with a dark american hop finish. Not bad, but nothing to tell the grandkids sbout.

Nice change. Quickly dissapating tannish head. Yes to the nutty maltiness, with a cracker hops hit. As with their other offerings, the malt is the key. A winner.

Nice amber /brown color, small head that faded fast leaving little behind. The aroma was Malty and caramel with a mild fruit presence the flavor was malty and semi sweet caramel with a mild fruit and mild hops coming through,as it warmed the flavor became a little more evident with a nice semi sweetness coming through in the finish.Fairly decent AD that i'm glad to say i have more to enjoy for later.More then makes up for the trip to GF to get this brew, and the many others.
