Slightly alcoholic and wheaty with roasted malt throughout. Pour was a nice dark roasted brown with a one finger off white head.Taste was very acidic. Roasted malt, acid and wheat in the front with a bitter malt aftertaste. Not too bad. dkachur (2415), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Nice frothy head that dissipates after a minute or two. Aroma of sweet brown malt and seawater. Medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, lots of nutty and spicy malt thickness up front, which fades into a smooth lagery finish. Spicy hop character. A great session beer. Brown colored topped with a thick tan head. The aroma was pretty boring, but there’s a nice malt flavor in there acompanied by a hoppy spicy bite. Maybe a little sour. Relatively warming and a nice one for the Holidays. beerbill (1973), Laurel, New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 13, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Yet another mediocre beer produced by the folks at Saranac. This one at least looks promising with a clear red body and a moderate, long-lasting off-white head that left a bit of lace on the glass. Weird aroma of caramel and unsweetened iced tea. The flavor begins with weak, watered-down caramel. This is followed by a virtually flavorless bitter taste not unlike the white part of an orange. Harsh and thin at the same time, not a good combination. This stuff is not very good. I can’t say I am disappointed, because that would imply I expected something better from Saranac in the first place. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Bottle. Dark clear copper with a light beige frothy head. Aroma of honeyed cereal, cookie, grain and dark karo. Nutty pecan like flavor, but with a harsh bitter edge which seemed more metallic than hoppy. Thin. Meh.
