Commercial Description:
Editor's note: while the styles are effectively the same, this is a different beer than Oval Beach; Cerveza Buena uses maize in the grain bill, among other things, while Oval Beach does not.

This is labeled a "Blond Ale" at the brewery, but seems to be intended very much as an introductory offering to the micro-brew novice...something to lure them away from their typical pale lagers. And as a micro-brew on training wheels, it really isn’t too bad. The nose is pretty weak, merely some very light caramel maltiness. Flavor is also not very bold...light caramel and only a faint hint of hoppiness, clocking in at around 8 IBU. But I can see the usefulness of such a product...you have to start somewhere, I guess.
