dc_attorney (13), USA Dec 19, 2006 During a visit to Savannah, received a pint in a restaurant. The server described it as bitter but the initial odor appeared to be more of a pungent smell. The appearance was very light, but it had a very strong taste. Unfortunately, the strong taste was of wood. The finish was overpowering and required a glass of water to remove it. I would not recommend this beer. kwoeltje (1207), Manchester, Missouri, USA Dec 14, 2006 Updated: Jan 12, 2007(draught) pale gold with small white head. Yeast aroma. Flavor is yeast and cloves. Tastes more like a Belgian ale than an English ale. savitska (163), Smyrna, Georgia, USA Oct 6, 2006 Not what I was expecting.
For a traditionally brewed Golden/Blonde Ale, I would have expected a cloudier appearance.
Still, this is no lager. The hop notes, the awesome lacing of the head and the smoth drinkability are great.
I’d quaff another pint. bitbucket (1542), Kirkland, Washington, USA May 3, 2006 Bottle conditioned. Pours a hazy pale amber with a quickly dissipating white head. Citrus and bread in the nose. Light to medium body. Sweetness and fruit in the taste eventually give way to a little hop bitterness at the end.
