Commercial Description:
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

22 oz bottle. Pours a solid amber with a respectable 1 finger head. Aroma of sweet caramel and malts. The flavor is mainly of malts with hints of caramel and hints of spice. I’m not a huge fan of belgian triples so it wasn’t too much of a surprise that I wasn’t in love with this one.

22oz bottle thanks to mashmaster, nice golden orange clear color, decent head, decent lacing. Smells like a fruity tripel. The taste is subtle but nice spice, fruit flavors, usual tripel profile. I was actually surprised to like this as much as I did but it was good and the lower (for a tripel) ABV was welcome. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-31-2008 05:01:57

Apricot color with a white head that doesn’t really leave any lacing or retention. Smell is grainy and has some nice clove, bubblegum, and some other spice to it. Taste is sweet, grainy malt with some light spice, clove, bubblegum, and lemon to it. Higher than medium body with relatively light carbonation to it. Might be a bit better if it was more dry, but it’s still pretty good.

22 ounce bottle shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a clear and very vivid orange color with a thin head, light lacing and very poor head retention. The aroma is bubblegum, pineapple, banana, cotton candy, clove and caramel. Taste is pineapple, clove and caramel. More tart and earthy than the aroma. Full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Tap at Stone Bistro. Nice Belgian style triple that works well with their redfish dish. Nice balance of Belgina style yeast and breadiness with the typcial Stone hop profile. Very smooth with a creamy mouthfeel.
