Commercial Description:
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

22 oz. bomber from the brewery.Golden clear hue with a modest white fluffy head. Aromas of sweet malt, and fruit. good medium mouthfeel. Nice tropical fruit tastes of pineapple, bannana. lemon. Mellow hop bitterness gives it a good balance. Nice lingering flavors on your palate. Good Triple style beer and great cause.

22 oz Bottle from Stone. Light amber color. Sweet and spice on the nose. Yeasty, fruity, spicy. Very Belgian tasting, but not stickily so. Clove, nutmeg, vanilla> Not amazing, but not bad either.

Pours a clear gold/orange with fluffy white head. Sweet and fruity... citrus, lemon peel, banana, clove, biscuits, pepper, and candy sugar. Pretty good beer, get it while you can.

22oz bottle. Pours a bright, clear, tarnished-copper / orange color; off-white head with patchy, mixed-bubbled lacing. Good amounts of Belgian sugars, honey, and white pepper in the aroma; reasonably dry; touch of apple cider. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of white pepper, dry honey, some dustiness and thick Belgian sugars; a bit overly sweet at the edges, very lively carbonation, and just overall a bit rougher than I’d like; still, a generous and reasonably tasty tripel. Lengthy finish: toastiness, honey, white pepper, and some breadiness; nicely dry and toasty end.

Bottle. Nice golden pour, with a strong banana/clove aroma. Flavor is much of the same, fairly straight forward and tasty. Well done. I tip my glass to Sawyer.

Had on tap at Stone world bistro.Pours a cloudy amber with some orange hue and an off-white head. Nose is spicey with some earthiness, along with hints of yeast and vanilla. Taste has candy sugar, more vanilla and earth tones, and some alcohol notes. Carbonated body with some sharpness to it. Finishes very well with little aftertaste, some lingering spice. A very tastey brew for a very worthy cause!

Bomber purchased from Stone on 11/15/08. This seems similar to the Vertical Epic 08 but not quite as tasty. Its a lighter yellow color and alot of banana peel on the finish. A bit less hop than the other (VE 08) but easy to drink.

On tap at stone bistro Pours a golden yellow color with a nice white head. Aroma of yeast, esthers, spices. Flavor is artificial fruity, banana, spices, yeast, citrus and malt but it seemed a little off for me. Still a decent brew, make sure to support the cause and pick up a pint or some bottles if you’re ever at the Stone Bistro.
