Commercial Description:
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

Pours gold with a decent white head. Smells of spice, some residual sugar. Tastes of candi sugar, dry malt, some citrussy hints, some doughy hints. Great beer.

22 fl oz bottle at Stone Bistro. Pours a golden yellow to orange with a white lacing head. Mild spiced and caramel aroma. Smooth yeasty, caramel and mild spiced flavour. Smooth finish. Quite authentic yet a bit too clean to be really exciting.

Bright golden orange pour with decent off white head. Smooth Summer fruit and yeasty bread nose and flavor. Very nice, and quite smooth on the palate.

From the tap at the bistro during Stone’s Winter Storm 2008. This was served in a 6 oz miniature snifter or possible wine glass and had perfect clarity. It was a glowing brass color with a small layer of foam for head and had a spicy yeast nose. The drink was still well carbonated and had a Stone signature style of Belgian yeast that was spicy in its own unique way. I think this should be bottled again.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a medium orangish color with a small sized off whtie head. Aromas of pears, banans, some spices, and citrus. Tastes of the same fruitiness and spices. Some oxidation is starting to set in.

Thanks to hopdog for sharing this one! Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma of mixed citrus, tropical fruits, tea and some ligh tripel spices. Flavor of light Belgian yeast esters, peppery notes, some various citrus notes and apricot. Oxidation has set in on this one and I think has impacted this beer negatively. It was nice to give it a try but it has passed it’s prime.
