Commercial Description:
Sawyer’s Triple is based upon the traditional "Golden Triple" style of strong ale, hailing from Belgium, and weighs in at 7.6% alc/vol. The brew is deep golden in color with a distinctive spicy, sweet and hoppy nose. Effervescent carbonation leads to a modestly dry malt character with hoppy flavors and alcohol overtones. Sawyer’s Triple was formulated and brewed by Bill Sherwood.

Draught at the Belgian Beer Fest. Pours a brilliant goldenrod color, deep and almost syrupy looking. Hints of bright orange and red peek through. Little to no head. Aroma of sweet yellow fruit esters (peaches, oranges, nectarines, apricots) with a lightly sweet yeast presence and a light note of vanilla or cream. Flavor is very sweet and candi flavored, with canned syrupy peaches appeal, low alcohol apparency and plenty of Belgian yeast activity. It’s very well done, and though I’m not a fan of the sweeter style of trippels (I like the perfumy, bitter, dry yeasty ones) this one was very good, very drinkable and did not thin out or shows problems from its age (2-3 years old now)

aroma like candied fruits... light honey/orange colored... light, balanced and very drinkable. a smiling beer.

Amber coloured. Yeasty and fruity aroma. Very yeasty and sweet flavour. A quite boring tripel.

Opened and sampled in the afterglow of the great Wisconsin victory over Purdue. Golden color with a rather wispy off white head that diminishes more quickly than an average triple. Pale malt mingles with light fruit and candi. Hints of alcohol as it warms. Lightly slick and slightly sticky in feel. Mild fruit flavors dominate, with mild pear and pineapple. A small citric bite and touch of spice. Finish is light with a light malt and some alcohol warming. Many thanks to herbjones.

Dark Gold. The nose was full of light fruits and spicy hops. The flavor was great and very well balanced. Light fruits dominated the palate. Lots of orange and some banana as well as some spicyness. Pretty hoppy but remarkably drinkable.

Another gift from the great guys at Stone - I can’t thank you enough! Pours a fine though disappearing head on an orange body. Lots of yeast and hay present in the aroma. Fruit and peaches also. Too much triple for me!! Flavor is sweet and fruity and rather syrupy. Strong hay notes. Not really a beer for me, since I’m not a fan of triples!

A citrusy aroma. Appearance is a cloudy yellow with a rather small head. It tastes pretty sweet with a slight sour lemon edge. The aftertaste is a bit acidic and sort of mediciney. A pretty good beer just not alot to it.

An amber beer with a small white disappearing head. The aroma contains notes of alcohol, peach, and fruit. While the falvor is sweet and dominated by alcohol and yeast.
