austinpowers (2827), New York, New York, USA Nov 12, 2004 Typical tripel with considerable spice notes. Peppery at times. Lots of alcohol kick that should have been better hidden behind malty sweetness, IMHO. Very little hops. I’m underwhelmed, but agree it’s well-crafted for the most part (as is everything Stone Brewing touches). To give them their due, at least Stone TRIED to brew a tripel.
yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 22 fl oz bottle at Stone Bistro. Pours a golden yellow to orange with a white lacing head. Mild spiced and caramel aroma. Smooth yeasty, caramel and mild spiced flavour. Smooth finish. Quite authentic yet a bit too clean to be really exciting. AgentSteve (736), Livermore, California, USA Aug 5, 2008 Bright golden orange pour with decent off white head. Smooth Summer fruit and yeasty bread nose and flavor. Very nice, and quite smooth on the palate. ironchefscott (226), long beach, California, USA Apr 15, 2008 on tap at stone
really light body for a triple but great estery flavors and great balance......wish this was brewed more often!
SDalkoholic (1017), Chula Vista, California, USA Apr 6, 2008 From the tap at the bistro during Stone’s Winter Storm 2008. This was served in a 6 oz miniature snifter or possible wine glass and had perfect clarity. It was a glowing brass color with a small layer of foam for head and had a spicy yeast nose. The drink was still well carbonated and had a Stone signature style of Belgian yeast that was spicy in its own unique way. I think this should be bottled again. hopdog (4525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 3, 2008 22oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a medium orangish color with a small sized off whtie head. Aromas of pears, banans, some spices, and citrus. Tastes of the same fruitiness and spices. Some oxidation is starting to set in.
