Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen-Mix

Bottle. Hazy orange colour with large creamy white mostly diminishing head. Aroma and flavor is grapefruit.

Bouteille 330ml, courtoisie de Blankboy. De couleur orange et voilée. Nez fruité (chair de pamplemousse, léger d’autres agrumes) avec des notes de blé, d’herbes et de sucre. Mince en bouche avec un pétillement fort-moyen et une texture aux notes aqueuses. Goût fruité (jus de pamplemousse assez sucré, notes d’agrumes) avec des notes de levures lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un léger goût de blé puis en finale l’on retrouve des notes de sucre artificiel ainsi qu’un très léger goût herbeux. Post-goût court et composé d’un léger goût fruité aux faibles notes sûres (pamplemousse sucré et traces de zest) avec de faibles notes de blé.

Bottle 33cl. Interesting concept mixed with Hefeweizen, but one that falls short and adds to the mix/beer selection so popular in Germany. Pours orange cloudy, white head. Aroma filled with grapefruit and not much else. Taste, grapefruit, slightly acidic. Contrary to other mix/beer styles, this one has more of a beer taste, and one can notice the Hefeweizen. Refreshing in a hot summer, def. not the best fruit beer out there, or whatever category it wants to fit in.

Bottle: Poured a glowy orange color weizen with a pure white bubbly head with minimal retention and no lacing. Aroma is totally dominated by the grapefruit which are not as syrupy as I expected. Taste is also dominated by nice grapefruit notes with some very subtle wheat note. Not something I would drink on a regular basis but it does work a lot more then I had expected.

The best frut beer i have ever tried in Germany. Actually I liked it a lot. I will try to bring some cans next tme, after all it looks like Grapefruit softdrink.
